When’s the best time for boiler repair?
It may seem obvious, but the time when your boiler is busiest is during the winter, and in the run-up to the coldest months, during the autumn. One thing you definitely don’t want is to be without a boiler during the colder months of the year, when you need it most. That’s why it makes sense to get your boiler checked and serviced over the summer, when you need it least, and can afford for it to be switched off for a few hours or even a day.
Working harder in winter
The depths of winter are when you really appreciate your boiler. It keeps your home warm and your water hot, but it’s also the time when it has to work hardest. You’ll most likely be using it more, every day, with the heating switched on for longer, and you’re more likely to take hot baths and showers too. And when your boiler’s working harder, it’s more likely to malfunction – just when you can least afford it.
Annual boiler service
To keep your boiler working efficiently, it’s best to get it checked and serviced every year. Small issues can become more serious if left unattended – regular servicing ensures that your boiler is keeping your home cosy and your water hot, all year round. A more efficiently working boiler also saves you money, reducing the cost of heating your home.
Boiler replacement
There’s no two ways about it, boiler replacement is expensive. Better to prolong the life of your boiler with annual checks and services, so it gives you good service for as long as it should. Eventually, even the best boilers need replacing, but at least you’ll know you’ve got the most out of it as you possibly can.
